GUIDELINES/INFORMATION FOR VENDORS

MISSION STATEMENT:
To encourage skill development and promotion of cottage industries and small businesses for all interested persons in the eight counties through which Highway 14 runs. To offer participants the opportunity to display and sell their products to a wider consumer base than traditionally available. To promote Highway 14 tourist attractions by supplying brochures to POP IN customers and answer questions they may have regarding the Highway 14 corridor.

  • The program is named POP IN which is an acronym for PRODUCTS ON PARADE IN NEBRASKA.
  • The products offered for sale by these cottage industries and small businesses must be made, grown, produced or value added in Nebraska.
  • The products will be sold at a POP IN site in each participating community located on Highway 14. The POP IN event will be held August 4, 2007.
  • Sales tax permits for Nebraska state sales tax and for city sales tax are the responsibilities of each vendor or group of vendors or small businesses. Information on sales tax permits may be obtained from the Nebraska State Department of Revenue located in Norfolk (877)269-6687, Grand Island (308)385-6067 and Lincoln (402)471-5729.
  • Highway 14 memberships are encouraged but not required. Membership forms are available by clicking here.
  • Display space, which includes a table for each artisan or small business, may be reserved at each site for a single $30.00 payment. Each additional table and space needed requires an additional $30.00.
  • Tables and wall space may also be reserved by local businesses and services in the county. Each table and wall space can be reserved for $30.00. The site coordinator, following the guidelines of the building owner or supervisor, must approve the use and display. Cancellations with full refund of table rent will only be available until the first day of the month prior to the event.
  • Concession stands will be required to pay a $35.00 fee.
  • The POP IN building should also be open two hours prior to opening for business for vendors and concession people to continue setting up. Each vendor is expected to keep their tables set up for shoppers until the designated stop time. For precise times or other questions call your site coordinator.
  • A signed contract and prepaid table fees are required to secure vendor space.
  • Click here to download an electronic copy of these guidelines/information for vendors.
