What is Birding?
Birdwatching or birding is the observation and study of birds
with the naked eye or through a visual enhancement device
like binoculars. Birding often involves a significant auditory
component, as many bird species are more readily detected
and identified by ear than by eye. Most birders and birdwatchers
pursue this activity for recreational or social reasons, unlike
ornithologists, who are engaged in the formal scientific study
of birds.
Our goal...
- To direct bird watchers to underutilized birding sites
along Highway 14.
- To expose familes to unique bird watching opportunities
near home and in distand locations.
- To explore an avenue that extends 200 miles from North
to South across Nebraska.
- To target birders, naturalists, and general eco-tourists,
who will find a wide array of birds and hidden sites.
